Game of Shrooms: Free Global Art-n-Seek Eventat 2215 West Colorado Ave.

Game of Shrooms is a free, global art-n-seek event and worldwide scavenger hunt created by artist Daniel “Attaboy” Seifert, celebrating independent artists and creative exploration. On June 13, artists across Colorado Springs will be hiding original, mushroom-themed artwork throughout Old Colorado City and surrounding areas. Participants can explore the area and search for hidden pieces tucked into public spaces—if you find one, it’s yours to keep. To take part, follow participating artists online as they release clues throughout the day. Clues may include close-up images, hints, or general location references to help guide seekers to each hidden piece. Each artwork is original, tagged by the artist, and part of a global movement happening simultaneously around the world. Participants can also access an interactive map highlighting featured locations, participating shops, and optional “side quests” throughout Old Colorado City. These community-driven stops may include creative activities, artist features, and additional ways to engage with the event beyond the hunt. This is a self-guided, all-ages experience open to anyone who wants to participate—whether you’re actively hunting or simply exploring the city and seeing what you find. In the weeks leading up to the event, Common Root Collective (CRC) will host free, donation-based mushroom art decorating sessions where community members can create their own pieces and connect with local artists. Day-of, there will also be opportunities to learn more about CRC’s work in building access to healing through art and supporting creative community spaces. Please respect all spaces and follow event guidelines: artwork is hidden only in public areas, one piece per artist per person, and always leave no trace. Captain Drips Tie Dye Studio is one of several participating locations and will serve as a featured stop within Old Colorado City.
