Lake George Fire Protection District Annual Spaghetti Dinner and On-Line Auctionat 8951 County Road 90

Lake George Fire Protection District (LGFPD) is gearing up for their annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser to be held Saturday, August 15 and an on-line auction. They are in need of items and/or services to be donated for the auction. Music will be provided by David Manship. This fundraiser is a vital component of LGFPD in insuring their continued and better ability to serve the needs of the district.  All items will be placed in the on-line auction, which will run from August 2nd at 8 a.m. through August 17th at 8 p.m. To participate in the auction, go to https://www.32auctions.com/LGFire2026. Monetary donations are also welcome and can be mailed to Lake George Fire, PO Box 281, Lake George, CO 80827. LGFPD was established October 21, 1974 and are celebrating 52 years serving their district and beyond. They cover 250 square miles and respond to a variety of calls; structure Fires, wildland Fires, accidents (vehicle and ATV), medical emergencies, water rescues, ice Rescues, and assist Park County Search and Rescue. LGFPD has one paid chief and an average of 35 active volunteers. Lake George Fire responds as mutual aid to all Park County and Teller County agencies and is part of the Teller County Wildland Task Force. LGFPD has four stations housing 13 engines, squads, rescue and utility vehicles and an additional squad and command vehicle that are at residences. Due to the size of the district, each of these locations need equipment to handle any type of call. The 250 square mile district is 87% Federal or State lands that it does not receive funding from. The district relies on tax revenues from the remaining 13%, donations and grants. This year proceeds will enable them to purchase a cache of BK Radios that are compatible with the United States Forest Service (USFS) and others on large fires. We will purchase new wildland shirts and pants for the volunteers and GPS Navigators for all our apparatus to assist with locating fires, accidents, and persons on 911 calls.  Last year they used the funds to purchase a drone, a portable pump for refilling apparatus and a new EMS/Rescue Van. “A dream would be a special donation for a new truck… we can dream,” said Chief Susan Bernstetter. Dinner will include a homemade special sauce with pasta, salad, garlic toast, cookies, and drinks. Bernstetter and the volunteers thank everyone in advance for your support, as they would not be able to provide the protection and essential services without support of the community.
