Pre-1850 Research — free event in Colorado Springs on May 26, 2026

About This Event

Researching ancestors in the United States before 1850 can be a challenge. Census records contain far fewer names, vital records are less standardized, and time has taken its toll on documents, photographs, and grave markers. Join us to learn strategies, records, and tips to help you dive deeper into your genealogical research. Registration is NOT required; however, you may register to receive a reminder email with a Zoom link. The Zoom link is also included on the class page; look for the blue 'Pre-1850 Research Zoom Link' button! Download relevant class handouts from this page, or from our website, https://ppld.org/genealogy-research-guide, where you can also learn more about PPLD's genealogy resources! There is no cost to participate in this virtual class.
