About This Event

Writing as a Pathway to Attention In our era of constant distraction, the practice of timed writing can become a portal into presence, for both our students and ourselves. Drawing on concepts from The Pen and the Bell: Mindful Writing in a Busy World, this session explores how brief, structured writing practices can cultivate focused attention, reduce anxiety, enhance community, and deepen engagement with any subject matter, regardless of discipline. Participants will leave with a handful of ready-to-use prompts and a framework for weaving short mindful-writing moments into their own courses. Register for this hyflex event by September 18. In-person participants will receive a signed copy of the book.
