Rocky Mountain PBS Kids Fest

Join Rocky Mountain PBS at Panorama Park in Colorado Springs for KIDS FEST! This free family event offers opportunities to meet beloved PBS KIDS characters like Daniel Tiger, Arthur, Clifford, Nature Cat, and Luna. Enjoy many kid-friendly activities such as face painting, scavenger hunts, a community art project, and resources from local child-focused organizations. Spend the day playing in the park and creating lasting memories with friends and family. While registration is encouraged, the event itself is free. New this year are performances by Colorado children’s content creators on the main stage and The Arc-Pikes Peak Region’s Mobile Universal Changing Station (MUCS), a fully accessible, private changing area that travels to community events, helping individuals of all ages needing personal care to join in the fun.

Star Party at Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center

Join us and Colorado Springs Astronomical Society (CSASTRO) for an after-hours, lights-out star party in our parking lot! Our CSASTRO Members will be bringing out their personal telescopes and other observing instruments to share views of the night sky with attendees. The Moon will be half full (1st Quarter) and we should also be able to view the planets Jupiter and Venus as well as colorful stars, star clusters, nebula and perhaps a galaxy or two. Whooo's in the Park? The Owls of the Garden of the Gods

Descover the hidden lives of owls in this family-friendly program. Find out what species you might see in the Garden of the Gods and how they live in the Park. Learn what makes owls some of the coolest birds around, and discover what they eat when you dissect a real owl pellet! All ages are welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note there are no live animals in this indoor program. No refunds.

USAFA Family Movie: Wall-E on Sat, Sept 19 @ 10 a.m.

USAFA Family Movie Event Wall-E Saturday, Sept 19 at 10 a.m. Join us at the USAFA Planetarium for a family-favorite space movie – Wall-E. Wall-E was chosen by Freddy The Ready Falcon as a film for September to help share the message of National Preparedness Month, preparing today can help protect your tomorrows. This movie is open to USAFA permanent party, Cadets and their families. Everyone must RSVP online to reserve your seats for the movie. Non-messy snacks and closeable drinks with lids are authorized for this event only in the Planetarium. IMPORTANT NOTE: With our limited seating, if you RSVP and your plans change for any reason, please email Jeff our Planetarium Director at planetarium@afacademy.af.edu so we can release your seats to another family who can attend. Who doesn’t love a birthday party? This year, Colorado is turning 150, and America is turning 250! The Little Learners: Pikes Peak Wonders Series is for children (ages 3-5) and their favorite grownup. Learn and celebrate the whole year through games, crafts, songs, and history challenges. These programs are designed to help young learners discover and practice essential development skills, all while exploring history! This month we’ll dive into the Colorado Early Learning & Development Guidelines for Social & Emotional Development and learn about the past, present, and future.
