Dreamscapes — Colorado Springs event
May 30, 2026, 4:00 AM

Dreamscapes

Cottonwood Center for the Arts is pleased to announce a juried exhibition for the month of May featuring works in response to an open call to the public: “Dreamscapes” Human beings spend roughly 33% of their lives sleeping, which equates to around 26 years. Accounting for the average time spent falling asleep, you will spend 33 years of your life in bed. I have dreamt my entire life about a farmhouse on the plains – one I have never seen before. I have dreamt my entire life about a mountain pass at sunset that doesn’t exist, it runs alongside a cold river. I dream of impossible and terrifying storms in the sky, the smell of a pine forest, water, highways. I dream in faded blues and yellows. What do you dream, what have you seen, and what pieces of it do you carry with you? For this call we asked artists to analyze and celebrate our unconscious lives. The worn-out edges of visions we grasp at every morning, and the colors and shapes you sort through when explaining them. Non-representational and representational works were accepted for this call. Entries of all mediums and styles were accepted. The House of David Music Center Elegant Tea Fundraiser — Colorado Springs event
May 30, 2026, 10:00 AM

The House of David Music Center Elegant Tea Fundraiser

The House of David Music Center is providing an afternoon tea with live music provided by students. All proceeds benefit the Center’s scholarship fund, which provides scholarship lessons for community members who cannot afford the full cost of lessons. We currently support 65+ students on partial scholarships and we need your help! I am so incredibly thankful for this community and the continued support: Since August we have handed out $13,810 directly to students in the form of tuition reduction. We received $2,200 from Ute Pass Kiwanis, $1,000 from Lyons Club. With these wonderful partners, this total was brought to $10,610. We were desperately hoping for some scholarships and grants to come through. We are constantly applying for them (this month $8,000). Additionally, CHE (Colorado Homeschool Enrichment, Community Partnership Family Resource Center, Aspen Mine Center have also sponsored 14 students (outside of our funding)! Please come support these efforts by joining us Saturday May 30, at 4:00 at the Ute Pass Cultural Center.
